Heart to Heart Counseling offers individual therapy where a therapist meets face-to-face with the individual to develop treatment goals. Together, the therapist will work with the client to achieve goals. Sessions typically occur weekly, and as issues decrease, the sessions may occur bi-weekly or even monthly until the goal is met.
Heart to Heart Counseling works with families to promote better relationships within the family unit. The goal of family therapy is to encourage family members to work together to understand, support, and communicate in a positive, effective way. Most family issues, large or small, can be resolved when the family works together.
Heart to Heart Counseling works with couples to understand and resolve conflict within the relationship. Couples therapy can give couples the tools to communicate, problem solve, and argue in a healthy way. Relationships are hard work. At Heart to Heart Counseling LLC, we believe we can help you and your partner resolve the conflict and work toward a renewed level of intimacy and closeness.
“Toys are like the words to children, and play is their language”- Gary Landreth. As adults, we use therapy to “talk'' through our feelings. However, children are sometimes not as equipped to verbalize their thoughts and feelings. Therefore, children often use play as a way to process and express their inner conflict. Heart to Heart Counseling will work with your child to learn to communicate with others, express feelings and emotions, regulate emotions, and develop problem-solving skills.
Theraplay is a therapeutic approach that works with the child and families to build and enhance attachment, self-esteem, trust, and engagement. Caregivers are actively involved in Theraplay sessions where the child and caregiver will work with a trained therapist through playful, physical, and healthy interactions to strengthen and build on the connection and attachment of the child and caregiver.
